Immediately after taking in the Chanel Haute Couture show, Anna Wintour bopped backstage, picked out a skirt to wear, then trotted over to the Élysée Palace in Paris to accept her Legion of Honour medal. Okay fine, it probably didn't happen exactly like that, but the order of events was similar.
Anna has been named a Chevalier (knight) of the Honour for her generous contributions to the fashion industry over the years. She received the award from President Sarkozy, clad in a fresh-off-the-runway Chanel Couture skirt suit. Other fashion notables who have received the award include Karl Lagerfeld, Giorgio Armani and Valentino. This is the second time Anna's been knighted. She first received the Order of the British Empire from Queen Elizabeth in 2008.
Anna's new medal goes quite nicely with her couture, don't you think?
